GDPR

Introduce

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new legal framework for data protection. This regulation expands the privacy of EU individuals on how their personal data are collected, processed and maintained.

LightCDN as processor

This usually happens when you (LightCDN customer) use our CDN service. In this case, we are just a channel of information controlled by others. You and your users control the content delivered through our CDN network. In this case, the personal data we deal with are CDN service access logs, namely client IP, user agents, etc. As the handler, we promise as follows.

Apply strict safety standards to provide a high level of safety.

Process your personal data only for the purpose of performing the service.

In case of personal data leakage, you will not be notified "without reasonable delay".

Keep your personal data within the EU and only in countries recognized by the EU.

Inform you whether we have engaged subcontractors to process your personal data.

Data Processing Protocol (DPR)

In some cases, personal data may be collected by visitors who visit the website, depending on the structure of the website. This includes information stored in user agents, referers, or URLs. Once these fields contain personal data, they are defined as data processing orders or committees according to Article 28 of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation, EU Regulation). If this applies to you, the law requires you to complete a Data Processing Agreement (DPA). You can consult our customer service to receive the DPR protocol.

LightCDN as controller

This is usually necessary when we (LightCDN) collect personal data (such as your name, e-mail address, etc.) to provide our services, support, and purchase (please visit the privacy policy page for more details), which is also when we collect personal data of employees. As a controller, we promise the following.

Implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a high level of safety.

Limit personal data only to the extent absolutely necessary.

Use personal data only for collection purposes.

Personal data is stored only in limited time.

LightCDN's commitment to GDPR compliance

We are committed to customer success, including compliance with GDPR. Our privacy team constantly reviews our functions and practices to ensure that we support our customers to meet their GDPR compliance requirements.
